Western Australia strongest performing economy in Australia.

It is great to be here today to bring to you the latest updates in Australia.

So today we will look at some of the performing states in Australia.

According to CommSec State of the States report, Western Australia is still the best performing economy in Australia. 

Take a look at what Chief Economic of CommSec State of the States says about the study :

CommSec chief economist Craig James says Western Australia ranked first in four of the eight criteria to again come first, despite the impact of falling iron ore prices on the mining sector.
"Really it's a case of Western Australia first, daylight second," he said. Read more here....
 The study done by CommSec State of the States were to analyse the economies of each states in Australia.

The analysis is done by using eight key indicators which are :

1. economic growth,
2. retail spending,
3. equipment investment,
4. unemployment,
5. constructions work completed,
6. population growth
7. housing and
8. dwelling commencement. (skynews.com.au, 2013)

Western Australia was leading in construction work completed, retail trade, population growth, and equipment investment.

 Victoria, NSW and Queensland each has their own unique strength and weakness.
The report said there was very little separating the three largest states with Victoria, NSW and Queensland each having different strengths and weaknesses. (skynews.com.au, 2013)
Victoria was strong in Housing Development but loss momentum, for Queensland on the other hand ranked highest on construction work and equipment investment but they had high unemployment.

How about NSW? NSW had low unemployment but low economic growth as well.

The report said there was very little separating the three largest states with Victoria, NSW and Queensland each having different strengths and weaknesses.
Victoria was supported by its housing sector but was losing momentum.
Queensland ranked highest on construction work and equipment investment but had historically high unemployment.
This contrasted with NSW which had historically low unemployment but low economic growth. Read more here...
